Good Food, Calm Service, and a Place to Come Back To
We're a neighbourhood café and kitchen built around fresh produce, attentive service, and a room you actually want to spend time in.
A small idea, slowly built into a room people return to.
Marlow & Bean started as a single counter and a short menu, with a focus on doing a few things very well — proper coffee, fresh bakery, and a place that felt calm in the middle of a busy day.
Over time the kitchen grew, the menu expanded, and the catering side opened up — but the brief stayed the same. Fresh produce, warm service, and a room that asks you to slow down for a moment.
Today we serve breakfast through to early evening, host private functions, and cater for offices, gatherings, and celebrations across the city.
Considered choices, not loud ones.
We're not trying to be everything. We're trying to be reliable, generous, and well-made — every day.
Made in-house
Bread, pastries, sauces, and dressings are prepared on site.
Specialty coffee
Single-origin beans from small roasters, dialled in each morning.
Seasonal menu
Four refreshes a year so the kitchen stays interesting and the produce stays in season.
The things we measure ourselves against
Freshness
Bakery items, sauces, and dressings made in-house from real ingredients.
Warm Service
A team that knows the menu, your name, and how you like your coffee.
Consistency
The same standard whether it's a Tuesday breakfast or a Saturday brunch.
Community
We work with local makers, farmers, and small producers wherever we can.
Quality
Specialty coffee, free-range protein, and produce chosen for the season.
Attention to Detail
Plating, packaging, and presentation considered for every order.
A room built for lingering.
Warm light, soft music, comfortable seating, and a counter that's easy to approach. Whether you're alone with a book or here for a long lunch, the room is set up for it.
“Hospitality isn't a script. It's noticing what someone needs and quietly handling it. That's the standard we hold each other to — every shift, every order, every guest.”
